On the basis of the personal traits and professional curriculum vitae of the person in question, our specialists will determine symbols that best suit you and your family, its origins, and your own personal characteristics. Heraldry – the study of coats of arms – has for centuries maintained its own rules, and is considered one of the conservative disciplines. For this reason, it is not possible to include in a coat of arms just any object or symbol, such as a car, airlplane or ball. For a coat of arms to fulfill all the official criteria and be registered, only the accepted symbols and colors may be used.
- the heraldry commission
After the information has been prepared, the “heraldry commission” meets – a team of experts on Slovak heraldry. The result of the meeting determines the final version of your family’s coat of arms. One of the commission important tasks is to define the coat of arms in such a way that it fulfills all the norms, without resembling any other coat of arms that has already been registered.
- preparation of the proposal
On the basis of what the heraldry commission decides, we will produce a draft of the family coat of arms in various color schemes that are all historically appropriate. Now the client can express his or her own personal preference and select the final version of the coat of arms.
- registration
the design that has been prepared and approved by the client is registered in the Heraldic Registry of the Slovak Republic, which falls under the purview of the Slovak Ministry of the Interior. Registration of the coat of arms is possible if it meets all the requirements regarding content and formal elements (graphic design, shape, suitability of the symbols and colors). The coats of arms we design always meet the criteria outlined above.
